What is the best development environment for PHP? I use Windows® Explorer for Notepad ++ and FTP with Vibrant Ink styling.

I use Ubuntu on my development desktop, Apache runs on the server with the same setup on which the code is deployed. Not really uploading code on remote server to run is really convenient! When I started doing this, he made my workflow pretty much beautiful just save the file and press F5, and your changes are immediate.
My favorite editor for Linux is. Notepad ++ and Kate are identical, but I think Kate is better organized. I do not think that Kate is available for Windows, though.

Does Windows Explorer support sftp? Using plain FTP protocols is not recommended, because it sends your authentication details (and all transfers) unencrypted. You may want to get a program such as start using sftp.
I wrote a small cover, so I can upload files from the console, like ssend newfile.php . It's very convenient when you're just editing some files.
