fedora - When to do nothing, logout or reboot in response to a system update -

I have noticed that when I update my programming tools on Fedora using PackageKit, Sometimes it will be said that I need to logout or reboot, while using Yum (Favorites), there is no such advice (best of my awareness). My rule of thumb is that if I got an update to a device or plugin (eclipse), then I will restart the tool. If this is a system component, such as a KDE-Base or a panel, I will log out and if a new kernel is installed which will reboot. The problem is that having hundreds of packages included in an update will be very careful.

It is also suitable on Ubuntu / Debian / etc. But not so much for Windows or Mac, I suspect.

The yum-security plugin should be processed soon with "Y-utils", or "yum Ps "(from yum-plugin-to-yum-) - also requires" need-restart "notification, and issuing a warning / message to restart.

Ps package).
