We currently have two web servers (Windows Server 2008 Standard, IIS 7) to host an ASP.NET website Setup and the basic features of our hardware firewall to provide network load balancing (NLB) between the two servers means that we have to convert the ASP.NET session state mode to SQL Server so that data stored in the session is accessible Can anyone who requests a request from the server The main issue is that Crystal Reports (from the original version pack VS 2008) does not support serialization, which is necessary to report / transfer session status to SQL Server.
To read crystal reports from me in a web farm environment so far, it seems that one option is to upgrade to the Crystal Reports server and load the report from the third server.
Another option, we have no such additional cost in the form of SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), although I am not sure whether SSRS will solve the issue of collecting reports in the session?
Do anyone have any experience / suggestions in establishing crystal reports or SSRs in web form environments?
Have you considered the ARR and URL rewrite module for IIS instead of NIB? Not sure if he will fix the situation, but to think about something, I have got an ARR in front of a customer's SSR setup now, no problem has been done, and this is 100% modern instead of the legacy NLB IIS, which is less flexible for web-centric activities.
Does the crystal report depend on the state of the session, or is it an option to design in your application?
Does the SSP.NET State Service offer better options than the SQL Server session State DB?
What does CR mean by "do not seem to support" serialization? What is the value of machine on IIS machines? Serialization in OATB machines is impossible in a field if the key does not match.
