operating system - what is difference between 32 bit vs 64 bit OSs and processors (Intel architecture and WIndows) -
I know that the difference is the size of the registers for 64-bit and 32-bit processors only 64 and 32 bit, respectively . Apart from this, the 64-bit processor addresses 64 bits, is there any other difference between these two?
Physical address extension (PAE) to allow x86 processors The specialty is to reach larger physical address space than 4 GB. It can go up to 64 GB To use PAE, the OS should support this feature. All major OSs allow the use of PAs including Windows.
Therefore, memory access is actually 32-bit & amp; 64-bit OS
On the other hand, almost all processors are now coming into the market are 64-bit enabled, so it really depends on your OS, how much memory access it allows.
